Gaglioppo and Nerello Calabrese; Consolato Malaspina founded the estate in 1967 and now works the land with his four daughters. The vineyards are within a mile of the ocean, yet are at a high altitude of 700 meters, so the wild and rugged terrain creates a unique terroir. The wine is rustic and beautiful much like the land from which it comes; herbal, dusty, baked, and dried red fruits with spice and roasted meat aromas. Pairs well with lamb, rabbit, red meat stews, and medium aged cheeses. Perfect for barbecue!
